Message from HIPET Director

It gives me great pleasure to be leading the Hamad Interprofessional Education & Training (HIPET), previously known as Hamad International Training Centre (HITC). Since our establishment in 2000, our department has grown far beyond its initial mandate, evolving into a dynamic educational hub that supports learners and healthcare teams across Qatar and the region. Today, HIPET proudly serves physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, technicians, students, and administrative staff, providing essential training, life-saving resuscitation programs, and key resuscitation operational governance that strengthens our organization. In 2024, HIPET achieved a major milestone: the prestigious American Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE), a recognition that reinforces our dedication to excellence and collaborative practice in healthcare education. We are also proudly committed to our community. HIPET’s health promotion and public engagement initiatives and programs serve the wider community’s well-being.

HIPET, represents a strategic realignment, one that connects our identity to our vision, values, and measurable impact. It marks our continued commitment to:

• Championing safe, high-quality patient care through integrated educational, operational, and clinical governance.
• Expanding our educational services to include simulation, eLearning, faculty development, and competency-based training.
• Advancing interprofessional, team-based learning in alignment with global best practices.
• Strengthening our leadership and visibility to build meaningful collaborations with academic institutions, accrediting bodies, and professional organizations locally and internationally.

As we move forward under the HIPET banner, we honor our rich legacy while embracing a future driven by innovation, teamwork, and transformative education. I am deeply grateful to our outstanding staff and partners whose dedication has made this evolution possible. We are also immensely proud of HMC’s senior leadership support of our department. Together, we will continue shaping the future of healthcare education and training in Qatar and beyond.
